Just wanted to give a little update on the little man so that you can continue to pray for him as he makes his way into our world:)
Yesterday the nurses noticed that his breathing was quicker than is normal. We spoke with a specialist late last night and he let us know that it appears he may have gotten a gulp of amniotic fluid in his lungs. It's nothing to be heavily concerned about but requires some extra monitoring and intervention. Right now they have him on oxygen and a little IV is in place to help them regulate his breathing. Thankfully, at this point it appears that I will be able to feed him every three hours...just under a bit more monitoring than usual. We give thanks for this!
His football player shoulders and my not-so-football-player frame collided a bit during the delivery and he does have a fractured clavicle bone. This is not uncommon in large babies and should heal up within a few weeks.
We are so thankful that overall he appears to be healthy and is improving each day.
Right now, it looks as though I will be released tomorrow. Jude will need to stick around for another day or two so we'll be staying at the hospital with him until he's ready to go. We'll keep you posted on any new developments!
