We drove through Mississippi on our way to the beach. The boys think the entire state is a forest. Judging by the pines along the interstate, it makes sense.
We saw a few familiar faces and introduced the boys to a passel of kids that became fast friends. David's college crew held a Narnian dinner, complete with Mrs. Beaver's marmalade sticky buns. We spent the night with my Mississippi "sister," bedtime was books in a fort with a camping lantern. Mississippi will just always feel like the friendliest state to me. It's like a family reunion at every doorstep.
And before we drove off, we had to take them for a ramble on the Mississippi College Quad. Some places just get more beautiful with age.
And now, we are beach bound for some sunshine and sand!
